Amid the ruins of a textile factory, scattered among the debris, lie old spools of thread exposed to the harshness of the elements.
The physical marks visible on these threads reveal the transformative power of time on matter.
I repurposed the threads to embroider a photograph of the ruins themselves, along with the threads in their original setting.
Ultimately, this is about the memory of a once-thriving textile past that endures in the material traces of its activity.
