MADE IN is a hand-embroidered world map on which I've sewn the labels of my clothes and the ones of people close to me, by country of production of the textile (not necessarily the country of production of the yarn, fabric or design). Marked with labels from different parts of the world, the fabric we use is made unevenly and anonymously. Most of the labor in this industry is female (80%), an invisible workforce. They work in precarious conditions, with wages insufficient to support themselves and their families. With needle and thread I use my hands to embroider the fragile borders that separate us. I embroider like scribbles, so that I can sew the fundamental: the places we don't know, engraved on the labels, which often go unnoticed by our eyes.
